Things I’ve learned from the new Beyonce video:
1. Her head is not attached to her body (ex: 1st panel at 3:08)
2. Every video needs 10 Beyonce’s (ex: 1:58)
3. Her eyebrows are not attached to her face (ex: :47)
4. Everything from 1:21 – 1:24 is copied from me while drunk at Town
5. Everything from :29 – :31 will be my new move while drunk at Town
6. I cannot wait for “Love On Top”! Keyyyyy chaaaaanges!

Beyonce – Countdown (video)

Ahhhh, finally. Although I have no idea what is going on here after one watch I think this is the best video she’s done since “Bad Romance”. It’s artistically the most creative, I love the way the film looks, and it just happens to be my second favorite song on the album. It won’t be everyone’s cup of gaga, but that’s what makes a good video, eh? Lady G, been a long time but you and I finally found a match.
Adam Levine shirtless, that is all.
Not everyone may be a fan of Incubus, but I have been since their album Make Yourself which was basically on repeat in high school. Songs like “Drive” and “Stellar” still resonate. Brandon Boyd has always had a great voice, tearing into his upper register beautifully, but perhaps never given the apotlight it deserved until this song. He really lets loose and hangs on the notes until his beautiful vibratto kicks in to make each note seem effortless.
Perhaps not the most upbeat thing for a Monday morning, but I couldn’t pass it up.
Coldplay does it again with their masterful use of stop motion which they first used in their video for “Strawberry Swing”. Interestingly enough, the guitar lick reminds me a lot of the aforementioned song. Another great video, but don’t watch if you’re prone to seizure. They released an EP last Sunday featuring “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall” with their full record slated to drop in Fall.
Well damnit Selena, I am hooked, I love you like a love song. At the video is an amazing, 80′s retro-tastic color explosion.
FUCK YOU…It’s Britney Bitches!
Best song on Femme Fatale…kills it!
The Wombats – Techno Fan

There is a way to tell the story of going out on a Friday night, and there is a way to tell it well. To use subtleties and wit to really convey the emotions that go on behind the superficial urge to drink Tequila til you hit the floor. The Wombats tell the story better than anyone I have heard in recent memory. ”shut up and move with me move with me or, or get out of my face/I didn’t queue for an hour to leave straight away/shut up and stay with me, stay with me or, *or* let go off my hand/the lasers fill our minds with empty plans.” Visual and emotional story telling laid over energetic and infectious rock.
Their whole album This Modern Glitch is full of the same intensity and lyrical skill.
Whimsically nostalgic and poignantly optimistic is the only way to describe the latest video from Owl City for the single ‘Alligator Sky’ which features rapper Shawn Chrystopher. Much like my favorite female emo-synth pop artist, Lights, Owl City always leaves me feeling and thinking after listening to them. Most often uplifted and optimistic about the day ahead and the world around me. Owl City’s new album is out today and from what I can tell it will surely be a wonderful musical escape.
