I know what you’re thinking. Justin Bieber? Really? But wait! Ok, so it’s technically Justin Bieber but it is so completely unrecognizable that I’m willing to post it. Musician Nick Pittsinger has taken “U Smile” (a song which I’ve never heard) and gave it the Go-Go-Gadget treatment, stretching it 800%. He produced a beautifully ambient, Sigur Ros meets M83, 35 minute song that is quite amazing. Sure, this may be totally weird for some people but I like a nice haunting piece of music that just lets you fall in and get lost. I think we’ll definitely see this type of treatment given to other tracks in the near future and I’m kind of excited to see what hidden songs within songs we discover!

To get you movin at the end of what has proven to be a long work week, here is a remix of Robyn’s Hang With Me by DJ MAJR. From his website:

“I love this track in its original form, but I wanted it to be more danceable. I picked up the tempo, laced in a backtrack from an old L.A. Riots remix of Scanners, and then manipulated the track’s lows, highs, and mids until my ears were content with it. I beefed up the bass, made the backtrack more bubbly, edited the shit out of it, and then cut up the track until I felt like I and gave it more of a rise and fall than the laced-in base track of Avicii.”

It’s very listenable as he has removed the 1-2 minute standard remix intro which makes it a bit more iPod friendly. If you’re in DC and don’t have any plans tonight, head over to Apex for SIREN, where he will include this great track in a set list that will get your weekend started off right. Har Mar Superstar – Tall Boy (Manny Heatherly remix)

OK, I have to be honest, I’ve never heard of this guy before this song but I definitely need to listen to other tracks he’s put out. Har Mar, otherwise known as Sean Tillmann, has opened for The Strokes, Incubus, Tenacious D and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Who is this guy!? “Tall Boy” was originally written for Britney Spears but after her management rejected the song he put it on his 2009 album Dark Touches. Props for not changing the pronouns. The original is good, but this remix takes it to another level. Added synths and harder beats makes it a great dance song, one that would actually sound at home on a Sam Sparro album. I’ll probably be scouring the interwebs for more on this guy. Anyone who looks like Ron Jeremy and sounds like J.Timberlake definitely needs to be heard.

Here is SE-B’s new poptastic song “Bittersweet” with the video which was released on Tuesday. It’s a pure of heart pop song, which is what we can expect from Sophie, who has created some of the catchiest songs in the last decade…how I was ever able to get “Murder on the Dancefloor” out of my head is a miracle. After it the track dropped a few weeks ago, Freemasons got a hold of it and made it even better. Enjoy!
