There isn’t much information on the DJ Alesso, however he seems to be from Sweden (shocking). He has taken Danish indie band Dune’s latest single, “Heiress Of Valentina” and added a ridiculous drum and synth beat to really hype the song and emphasize the epic break beats. It was also featured on the new Ministry of Sound compilation, “Underground Miami 2011″.

It’s just one of those songs that you wait until the end of the night to hear because you know if it comes too soon your body will have nothing left to give. It’s a sunrise song, the final glitter bomb. It’s dancing on smashed opaque plastic cups, not caring if that’s your own sweat in your eyes or if it’s from the person who you’ve been falling in alcohol induced love with for the last hour. Whatever it is, they’re dancing with you, and that’s all that matters right now.

Some nights, you fall asleep before me. I listen to the stereo with my head on the pillow and I try not to stare at you. You move in your sleep and every time it makes me smile. But I try not to stare at you. I rest my head on the pillow and I look out past your face to the wall and the curtains and the window. I imagine the stars in the sky, out past the corona of the city. Sometimes a song will come on and the song is so great, and I imagine how much you would love to be hearing this song right now, how much you would like to be here awake with me listening to this song, our eyes full of starlight. In bed I smile at the thought of how much you would love this song. But instead I let you rest and I close my eyes and I try to go to sleep and in my last moments before dreaming I squeeze my fists and I try to remember the song so that in the morning I can find it for you or maybe, if I’m feeling brave, sing it. A little.

Alexis Jordan – Happiness (Deadmou5 remix)

By now I’m sure everyone has heard “Happiness” by Alexis Jordan. If you have been to a club in the past three months it’s been playing at some point. So yes, while this is not a new song the remix might be new to some people. Deadmou5 puts extra spacing between the lines in the verses and adds some heavy bass to get those speakers shaking. Also, you may not know that the song actually comes from a Deadmou5 track called “Brazil” that was released in November of 2008. After laying Jordan’s lyrics on it, we found happiness.

Justin Bieber – U Smile (800% remix)

I know what you’re thinking. Justin Bieber? Really? But wait! Ok, so it’s technically Justin Bieber but it is so completely unrecognizable that I’m willing to post it. Musician Nick Pittsinger has taken “U Smile” (a song which I’ve never heard) and gave it the Go-Go-Gadget treatment, stretching it 800%. He produced a beautifully ambient, Sigur Ros meets M83, 35 minute song that is quite amazing. Sure, this may be totally weird for some people but I like a nice haunting piece of music that just lets you fall in and get lost. I think we’ll definitely see this type of treatment given to other tracks in the near future and I’m kind of excited to see what hidden songs within songs we discover!

To get you movin at the end of what has proven to be a long work week, here is a remix of Robyn’s Hang With Me by DJ MAJR. From his website:

“I love this track in its original form, but I wanted it to be more danceable. I picked up the tempo, laced in a backtrack from an old L.A. Riots remix of Scanners, and then manipulated the track’s lows, highs, and mids until my ears were content with it. I beefed up the bass, made the backtrack more bubbly, edited the shit out of it, and then cut up the track until I felt like I and gave it more of a rise and fall than the laced-in base track of Avicii.”

It’s very listenable as he has removed the 1-2 minute standard remix intro which makes it a bit more iPod friendly.
