Well we know Crackney will not be coming out with any new music soon, which is a travesty for the whole world. (I blame you Bobby) So thankfully the insanely talented Penguin Prison, aka Chris Glover, decided to create this amazing mashup of the Whitney hit ‘Million Dollar Bill’ with his latest track ‘Multi-Millionaire’. He seamlessly pulls the two tracks together, creating a cool, soulful bit of pop amazingness.

SIREN: ROBYN RIOT!

So it seems all Gaga is about to break has broken loose today on the interwebs, but what’s a little Gaga when you can have an entire Robyn Riot?!!

The man behind SHIFT is bringing a night FILLED to the brim with his favorite lady of music, Robyn. DJ MAJR will be running the show after midnight upstairs – filling your ears with all the best sirens of electro-pop. C&B’s very own DJ Donna (you may know him better as Josh) will be running the show downstairs. With Robyn videos, music and general amazingness provided lovingly by the C&B team. SHIFT and Coffeeandbars coming together mix up something amazing for your Friday night.

If you can’t wait to imbibe and don’t want to be dancing on your own, head over to Nellies before 10 for a bit a pregame and see your favorite sirens on the big TV screens, along with yours truly.

SIREN: The “Oh-Oh’s” & Kylie videorama!

It is that time again, SIREN is taking over Apex and breathing life back into our old college haunt. Friday night head over to Apex for a step into the way back machine and some dancing as DJ MAJR and DJ Aaron Riggins play all your guilty Queer As Folk-era pleasures mixed in with the best electro-synths girls you know and love. Of course the best part will be the backroom video bar playing all  Kylie all night long on all the big screens! I will be your VJ for the evening. I have been scouring the interwebs for little known and rarely seen Kylie gems to share with everyone. There will be music videos, live shows, commercials, tv appearances and of course new tracks from Aphrodite worked into the mix.

It feels so good to be back in the video room, and to be the man behind the half door working the videos. For a little throw back. Listen to these gems that are the soundtrack to my Badlands (as it was called in my younger days) and Apex memories and not to mention what I was shaking it to with a certain blue eyed Italian boy. (And guilty pleasures I NEVER once ever expected to admit I like, let alone post on C&B) Enjoy and please don’t judge too much.

SIREN: A return to Apex

It’s time again for Pride here in the District.  A weekend full of way too much to do and, unlike Memorial Day weekend, way too little time to do it all in. With multiple events events going on, one that you have to make time for is the takeover and reinvention of Apex, the famous -possibly infamous- college Thursday night home for so many of us.  C&B guest blogger and SHIFT resident DJ, DJ MAJR, and nightlife wunderkind DJ Aaron Riggins have joined forces for the very first time to create a party that breaks the status-quo of DC nightlife and brings back to this mainstay “what the quintessential gay dance party should be.”

This launch party will be a sample of what’s to come from SIREN over the summer: a mix of three parties in one. ‘BitchPop’ – bringing you the best of electronica icons including Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, and M.I.A. ‘Oh Oh’ – a revitalizing take on retro: a celebration of 2000ʼs turn of the century-era dance artists such as Sonique, Amber, Daniel Bedingfield, Alice Deejay, Thunderpuss. The third and final component of SIREN is a secret initiative that will draw on the random, creative, and carefree nature of gay culture.

SIREN launch party is this Friday, June 11th. Doors open at 9pm and stay open until 3:30am. Apex is located at 1415 22nd Street, NW (Corner of 22nd and P Streets)

With DJ MAJR and Aaron Riggins at the helm music for the night will come from all over the pop spectrum: icons new and old, indie and mainstream, dancefloor favorites and surprises, that will surely having you dancing all night long. Most of all, expect the unexpected and prepare to be pulled in by the SIREN’s song.
