It has been a long time since anything from former Sugababe, Keisha Buchanan, has hit the interwebs.This is gem just leaked! ‘Under Control’ is dancey, hook landen and pretty damn good, and this is just a DEMO. Keisha clearly is mounting a comeback and a giant F*** You to anyone who thought she was down and out. It has the familiar flair of my favorite 80′s supporters, Hyper Crush, could they be lending a helping hand?

God I do really miss hearing Keisha’s voice, and honestly the Sugababes. I for one cannot wait for her new music!

Weekend Pregame: Sugababes – Thank You For The Heartbreak

‘Thank You for the Heartbreak’ should have been an anthem, unfortunately I don’t think after the departure of Keisha Buchanan from the Sugababes her replacement was unable to carry the song in the way that Keisha did and it really never saw the light of day. Well I want to fix that, so here is the proper version of a song that should have been a dancefloor anthem. I am sure there are a few of you out there who can relate to the lyrics “So be happy knowing that I’m not here alone/Music’s always been a friend to me/No bitter feelings, no enemies/And I don’t know what you thought you’d see/I gotta tell you boy that I am so happy”

Holiday Weekend DJ Sets!

Hello everyone out there in the interwebs! This weekend we celebrate the birth of America, and England celebrates the loss of, really, its best colony. What better way to celebrate our independence than to dance and be merry?! So in an effort to help everyone in DC do that, I am DJing not just once over this weekend, but twice!

If you are looking for a way to celebrate the USA at the stroke of midnight (or a few hours beforehand to get good and ready) head over to Duplex Diner for the first (possibly annual) ‘Townies and Tourists‘ party. I will be DJing along side my very loving and musically inclined boyfriend Rob.  So all you DC locals and visitors alike head over to Duplex (2004 18th Street, NW) starting at 9:30pm for a friendly, fun filled night that is a change from the crowded nightclub and their cover charges.

For those of you who consider yourselves marathon revelers, I will also be DJing along side Aaron Riggins (SIREN, HHHH) and Ed Bailey at Town (2009 8th Street, NW) for this months 4th of July-tastic WTF?!?! As usual with WTF all I can promise is fun music, drinks and that little something extra that makes you scratch your head and say…WTF?! Doors open at 10pm with a $5 cover.

English singer-songerwriter, Taio Cruz, fresh off his first number one hit in the U.S has teamed up with the ever klassy Ke$ha to try and land his next one. I will be the first to admit I do really like the song, and I also really like Taio Cruz. It’s a shame he needs to do collaborations to get noticed here in the U.S. His album ‘Rokstarr’ drops on June 1st, 2010.

Don’t let the soft start to the song fool you, this is one explosive dance song.

My Dreary Monday Pick Me Up: Sugababes

I have not had a Monday feel so much like a Monday in a very long time. So today I needed a super strong dose of energy and upbeat music. This meant I turned to my musical addiction for relief; Girl pop bands, most of all Sugababes. Though now that the last founding member Keisha has been kicked out any new material doesn’t interest me.
